Thumb rules rule indeed!!!

This I think will be a pre-final post. Here important observations that I had about project management will be documented.

There are various stages of any project. Though i dont know the specifics, but i'll put them under tags that may be useful

Thumb rule :
In any project,
  • the documentation must not be too much or too less.
  • the design must not be too complex or must not be spent too much time on.
  • the venture or project involves accurate decision making. Decisions must factor calculated risks.
  • only 20% of entire project work is project development, 20% is Monitoring and Planning. Every plan must be with a timeline/ time-frame attached to it.
  • For every plan/design, one must do negative testing and look out for problems. Then one must have workaround for each of them. Having workarounds avoids problems and minimizes risks.
On meetings :
The project and the discussions which follow must have
  • Healthy Debate
  • Active Participation
  • Non-hesitance on the part of each member.
For any project meeting
  • Value people's time. It is the most valuable thing one can ever waste.
  • Every meeting must must and must have Purpose Agenda Limit
  • Anything during the meeting must not be discussed so much that it loses its flavor.
In the next and final post , i'll jot down observations that are vital and fundamental to our very existence.
